Jim's Turn...

Well well well. It has now fallen upon me to update this blog. Chan has done a fine job thus far but prepare to be dazzled!! Okay, not dazzled but maybe someone will find this update interesting. As Chan posted earlier, we are slowly working on a multitide of seemingly never ending house projects. We're trying to breath new life into the yard and the plants without allowing our ginormous population of spiders and crawling bugs to thrive. We've already posted some pictures from the bedroom wall. I've killed any and all ivy that is growing on, in, and near the house. Etc, etc, etc. It has all been really fun and very much an adventure. We've really sunk our teeth into our new role as homeowners......What we didn't expect was for the house to start attacking us back. We've had 4 tree limbs fall since we've arrived. Each one larger then the next. These photos are from the 3rd limb to fall. We some how lucked out with this one because it landed directly between our two cars and did ZERO damage. The last one to fall finally did some damage. These photos below speak for themselves. Chan's truck had a ton of damage and I got my first crack at fence mending. All worked out in the end because nobody was injured and we got to know our State Farm rep a lot better! We've set up a disaster relief fund. You can contribute by sending donations to the house! :) We've also settled into work quite well. Chan is meeting new physicians and I'm getting used to flip-flopping back and forth between the world of wound care and outpatient physical therapy. We both really enjoy our jobs and have been having a great time practicing all the things that we've learned over the last few years.

We've been blessed to have friends out here with us to share in the adventure and the experience. Having them around has made this transition both easier and a LOT of fun. We tried our hand at golfing, tubing, and indoor rock climbing thus far and are planning a white water rafting trip from next weekend. There have also been talks of a Zip-Line tour through the alpine country near Bogus Basin before the season is up. Wish us luck!!
